BDI Holds Open House for Thrive’22 Campaign

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (August 20, 2018) – Burke Development, Inc. held an Open House on August 14th in appreciation of their Thrive’22 Campaign investors. The afternoon was a productive event of networking and information sharing between investors, municipalities and BDI staff.  The goal of the campaign, which kicked off in November 2017, is to promote job and economic growth, innovation and sustainability in Burke County and to improve the standard of living and well-being of its citizens. The five-year, private sector campaign supports BDI’s goal to grow the economy and create a bright economic future for the County. “BDI’s Thrive’22 campaign will support programs that are crucial to current and potential new employers,” said Kathy Bailey. “In this competitive environment for growth, our county and the Foothills Region will succeed if we work together, as friends and neighbors, in this public/private collaboration.” Since the start of the campaign, fifty-nine companies and individuals have pledged to the campaign for a total of $1,030,000 which exceeds the goal of $1M. Six hundred and twenty-three jobs have been announced as well as $102.9M in new capital investment, which exceeds the original goal of $90M. This campaign will allow for increased efforts for business retention and expansion, workforce development, business development and marketing, product development and investor relations and development. Again, BDI would like to express our appreciation to the following investors for their continued support in making the program a huge success.
