It has been another quick month here at BDI, time flies! We were pleased to welcome the NC Rural Center to Burke County last week for a site review of Project RENEW, which has been a great success. We also announced last week that three Burke County businesses are proud recipients of Building Reuse and Restoration grants. We have several exciting things coming up in September. Three Burke County companies have received Building Reuse and Restoration Grants from the NC Rural Center. The projects and expansions will add a total of 32 new restaurant and manufacturing jobs. As you step into the lobby at Geiger International in Hildebran it feels more like an office for a New York ad agency than a furniture manufacturer. Sleek, modern chairs stand out against the blue-hued walls. As you move past the lobby and into the manufacturing area words that come to mind are “clean”, “crisp”, “orderly” and “bright”.
