BDI, City Debut Made in Burke Segments

Videos to Highlight Local Manufacturing Companies BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (September 27, 2012) – Burke Development, Inc. (BDI) has partnered with the City of Morganton for Made in Burke, a monthly segment that will highlight local manufacturing companies. Beginning in mid-October the segments will air on CoMPAS Cable, and will be featured on the BDI website. “This is an opportunity for us to tell the story of some of our local companies,” said BDI President Scott Darnell. “We’re proud of all the products that are made here. The City of Morganton is a great partner for us and we appreciate their help in creating these videos.” Each segment is four to six minutes long and includes footage of a manufacturing facility, as well as interviews with business owners or executives. The first Made in Burke segment focuses on Opportunity Threads. The cut and sew company has been open since 2009, and has a unique business model that allows employees to become owners of the company. “There are so many neat companies, like Opportunity Threads, which are doing wonderful things here in Morganton,” said City Manager Sally Sandy. “We want to share these good, positive stories with Morganton residents so they can be proud of the items being produced here.” “I’m glad to be involved in this project,” said City of Morganton Studio Specialist Chad Medford, who is filming and producing each video. “I think it’s good that people know what our companies do. Made in Burke will give them a behind-the-scenes look.” To have your manufacturing business featured on Made in Burke contact Sara Chester at (828) 448-3821. About Burke Development, Inc.
