Marves Industries, LLC to Expand in Hildebran

For Immediate Release

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (May 6, 2019) – Burke County has been awarded a $312,000 building reuse grant to support the expansion of Marves Industries, LLC in Hildebran. Marves Industries, a well-known manufacturer of non-woven fabrics, acoustical materials, felt, and composite materials, will add an additional 10,000 square feet and 25 new jobs.

Marves Industries designs products for numerous applications in various markets. Their high quality and sustainable materials help minimize vibration, eliminate noise, repel heat, and absorb water. From cars to household appliances to green roofing, and virtually everywhere in between, they provide customized solutions tailored to satisfy even the most demanding application requirements.

Marves will use the addition to their existing 84,000 sq. ft. building, to facilitate the installation of a non-woven fiber line to produce products for the automotive, construction, furniture and bedding industries. Jobs to be created at the facility include a Production Manager, Group Leaders, Quality Inspector, Maintenance Electro-Mechanic and supporting Production Associates. The company currently has approximately 85 employees.

The Building Reuse program provides grants to local government units to support economic development activity that leads to the creation of new, full-time jobs and gives priority to projects located in the 80 most distressed counties in the state. This project falls in the Building Reuse Program’s Rural Health category, which requires new construction, renovation, or expansion of a health care facility with a NC licensure.

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, Burke County, Town of Hildebran and Western Piedmont Council of Governments assisted with the project.
