BDI Director Search Underway

The search for a new Executive Director at Burke Development is underway and leaders look forward to meeting candidates soon. Logan Development Group, the consulting firm hired to conduct the search, has posted the position with economic development organizations and has also distributed the description to his network. The profile and description were compiled from information shared with Daniel Logan during interviews conducted in early October with members of the BDI Executive Committee, the Committee of 100 and other community leaders. The profile stresses the importance of candidates having at least five years of economic development experience and also states that candidates must be willing to relocate and live in Burke County. According to Mr. Logan there have been several applications submitted and he will narrow the group to four or five finalists. “We are in the process of reviewing the applications and interviews are being scheduled for early December,” said BDI Chairman Bryan Steen. “There is no set deadline at this time. We want to move quickly but also with great caution so we make a good appointment. This is too important to rush but we need to get the new person in place and get moving as we transition into a new year.”
